TEHRAN, July 17 (Mehr News Agency) - Mehr News Agency and Tehran Times photojournalist Mojtaba Takin and his daughter were killed in a tragic car crash on Astara-Tehran road on Friday. His sudden demise came as a shock to every one. He will be missed by all his colleagues and relatives.
Takin had won several prizes in Iranian and
international photography competitions.
The MNA and the Tehran Times staff offer their heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
Takin, who headed Tehran Times and Mehr News Agency photography departments, was a highly respectable person with a calm manner.
O ever-smiling friend, farewell!
By Seyyed Mostafa Mousavi Sabet
Yesterday, I was informed about the death of my dear colleague Mojtaba Takin and his family in a car crash. The news was extremely devastating for me and frankly, I'm still in shock as I try to write these words.
It's difficult for me to write something like this in commemoration of a dear friend who accompanied me and my other colleagues on so many assignments.
Mojtaba worked in the news media, particularly at
the Tehran Times and the Mehr News Agency, and made many valuable contributions
over his 20-year career in photojournalism.
I first met Mojtaba in 1997 during a ceremony held by the Tehran Times to honor him along with other members of our staff for their services to the organization.
He always showed great interest in the coverage of art events and whenever he accompanied me to cover an event, I was assured of a positive outcome.
Eight years ago, he entered into a happy marriage, which brought him a daughter named Shakila. He was very dedicated to his family and, for that reason, he rejected many of our proposals for outings over the years that perhaps would have been more appealing to him had he been single.
All of us at the Tehran Times will never forget his calm and ever-smiling face. He will always be painfully missed and fondly remembered.
