Iraq's President Jalal Talabani meets SIIC's Hakim in Tehran
|

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iraq's President Jalal Talabani met the Head of Supreme Iraqi Islamic
Council (SIIC) Abdul Aziz Hakim in Tehran Sunday.
The two Iraqi officials reviewed political and security developments and
political parties' interaction in the country.
The two also emphasized the necessity of strategic cooperation and alliance
between Iraqi Kurdish region and Shiites, national solidarity and dialogue for
resolving interior problems.
Hakim, meanwhile, asserted Iraq should resolve discords with neighboring states
through diplomatic means and negotiation.
Talabani stepped into Tehran on Saturday in order to meet Hakim who is in Iran
to receive medical treatment for lung cancer.
