TEHRAN, June 7 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iranian Academy of Arts is to hold a seminar on Qajar films (1794-1925) in the coming year.
"The seminar will review issues such as proper recognition of Qajar films, and will also discuss the time cameras appeared in Iran during the time of Mozafar ad-Din Shah until the years films were officially produced in Iran," said head of the seminar Alireza Qasemkhan.
Topics such as "Qajar Cinema and Iran's Contemporary History," "Qajar's Cinema and Its Symbols," "Formation of New World in Qajar Cinema," "Qajar Cinema and National Identity," "Qajar Cinema and Other Iranian Art," "Men in Qajar Cinema" and "Qajar Dynasty in Iran's Cinema" will be discussed at the seminar, Qasemkhan noted.
Qasemkhan also remarked that a team of scholars including Esmaeil Bani-Ardalan, Mohammad Beheshti, Mohammad Tahaminejad, and Shahriar Adl, and cinematic figures Akbar Alami, Mohammad Afarideh, Alireza Rezadad, and Mohammad Afarideh would head the seminar.
Filmmakers and experts will speak about the Qajar films in the main section, while an exhibition of photos about the Qajar films will be set up on the sideline of the seminar.
