TEHRAN, June 7 (Mehr News Agency) -- The second Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) medals unveiled on Sunday in a ceremony held at the Games Committee in Tehran. Despite speculation that Iranian organizers have removed "Persian Gulf" words from the medals and brochures, the medals engraved with the historic name of the Persian Gulf.

Some Arab states had already threatened the Iranians that they will not participate in the Games if the name "Persian Gulf" is not removed from the medals.

"We rejected any request over removing the name of "Persian Gulf" from the medals," ISG executive secretary, Hassan Mirza Aghabeik, said.

The 2nd Islamic Countries Solidarity Games will be held in the three largest cities of Iran -- Tehran, Mashhad and Isfahan from 16 to 30 October.
