Iran manager Afshin Qotbi says he has adopted a 'special tactic' to defeat South Korea in the forthcoming 2010 World Cup qualifier in Seoul.

"Definitely, I have great motivation for the Iran-South Korea match because I used to work in South Korean football for many years, and want to beat the Korean team," Qotbi told reporters at a press conference after Iran beat the UAE on Wednesday.

"It is an international match and I know we have to win the game to qualify for the World Cup. That's why we have adopted a special tactic to win the match," he added.

Qotbi further pointed out that the victory against South Korea is the sweetest gift he can give to the Iranian nation.

"We have gained 4 points from two important matches (against North Korea and the UAE) and, as I said before, we will qualify for the World Cup with another 3 points," he explained.

The Iranian side beat the UAE 1-0 at Tehran's Azadi Stadium on Wednesday night and will meet South Korea in its final qualifier on Wednesday.

South Korea currently tops the Asian Group B with 15 points and is already guaranteed a ticket to the 2010 finals in South Africa.

North Korea and Saudi Arabia sit second and third respectively on 11 points. Iran is fourth with 10 points and the UAE remains at the bottom of the chart with only one point.

Asia has four automatic qualifying berths, with the third-placed teams in the two groups playing off against each other for a chance to take on Oceania zone victors New Zealand, in a match the winner of which will book a place in World Cup finals.
