Basij paramilitary forces terrorize residents of apartment complex in north Tehran
Payvand.com - The Basij paramilitary forces are using fear tactics to
intimidate residents of neighborhoods of Tehran whom they suspect of supporting
the presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi. On Monday June 15 at about 1 AM,
these forces attacked Sobhan residential complex located at Kaveh Blvd. in
Gheitarieh neighborhood of Tehran.
The Basijis entered the compound after attacking the guard's station,
breaking the glasses and beating the guard. They then inflicted damage to the
lobby and the elevators. Next they entered the parking and vandalized the cars.
The Basijis left happily around 3 AM after the intervention of regular police
forces. If this attack had happened by thugs, would the police have allowed them
to exit the complex just as easily?
