TEHRAN, March 3 (Mehr News Agency) -- Vahdat Hall is hosting the "Golden Nights" joint piano concert by Iranian and German musicians.
The first night on Monday was dedicated to a piano duet by Bahar Komaii and Safa Shahidi who performed pieces composed by world-renowned musicians, including Felix Mendelssohn, Antonín Dvorák, Roland Batik and Heshmat Sanjari.
On Tuesday the second evening, the Tehran Vocal Ensemble conducted by Milad Omranlu first gave a special performance of pieces by several musicians, including Bach, Gioacchino Rossini, Janis Joplin, Abolhassan Saba and Ali Akbar Qorbani.
The performance was followed by German pianists Stephan Weh and Marcel Dorn performing their Blüthner duet.
The two pianists performed seven pieces by famous musicians of the world of classical music on the same piano using their four hands, accompanied by a display with a ping-pong ball to allow the audience to follow along. Their performance featured the piano with excursions into different musical styles such as jazz, blues, classical, and especially boogie-woogie.
On Wednesday, there will be a joint performance of pianist Mohammadreza Zarif and violinist Ali Jafar Puyan who will perform music composed by Mohammadreza Zarif. Weh and Dorn will also repeat their performance of their Blüthner duet.
The concerts are cosponsored by the Zarif Golden Art Institute and the Rudaki Foundation.
