Book - No Rouz: Our Persian New Year

What do you know about Persian New Year?
Does your library have a warm and inviting book about No Rouz?

No Rouz is the centuries-old celebration of Persian New Year by the Iranian people. The new year starts at the moment of the vernal equinox; in 2009, it'll be on March 20th. (See below for exact times.)

With 338,000 Iranian-Americans in the United States today, and so little available about this ancient holiday, Kudakon Publishing is pleased to announce No Rouz: Our Persian New Year, a nonfiction children's picture book explaining the rich traditions of Persian New Year.

Warm, first-hand narration by Soheyla, a six-year-old Iranian-American girl, and intimate photo illustrations welcome the reader into her family's preparation for and celebration of No Rouz.

The reader is further drawn into the richness, depth, and beauty of Persian culture by the stunning Persian rugs bordering each page.
