Iranians are getting ready for Norouz, the Persian New Year (March 20, 2009). As part of the preparations to welcome Norouz, the houses are dusted off and the (Peraian) rugs are washed to get a "clean" start! The following photos by Mehdi Ghasemi show the carpet washing that is going on in Tehran.
