Tabriz, East Azarbaijan, May 2, IRNA -- Iran's first neurology center was inaugurated here at Imam Reza (AS) Medical Educational Center with the aim of curing epilepsy.
Addressing the opening ceremony, director of Tabriz Medical Sciences University's Neurology Center, Hormoz Airomlou said that epilepsy is a disease which does not respond to medicinal treatments and other procedures such as surgery and stimulant methods should be used for treatment.
Preliminaries for commissioning the center were carried out last year in cooperation with Turkish specialists, he said.
With the commissioning of the center, Tabriz has become the country's scientific hub in the field, he said, noting that henceforth, there is no need to send patients abroad for treatment.
