Bandar Anzali, Gilan prov, May 9, IRNA - First International Seminar on Pain and Ninth Annual Scientific Meeting of Iranian Pain Society opened here on Saturday and will continue until May 11.
Announcing this, executive secretary of the event, Bahram Naderi-Nabi told IRNA that the seminar seeks to provide an opportunity for exchange of experience and help promote scientific skills and diagnosis.
Topics for discussion include psychology of pain, pain in children and the elderly, new methods for controlling pain and economic costs, he said.
According to him, a total of 126 articles had been submitted to the event, of which 103 were accepted in the form of poster.
Some 20 foreign and Iranian instructors will deliver lectures, he said, noting that holding practical workshops is also on the agenda.
Specialists from France, the US, Germany, Lebanon and Turkey are participating in the event, co-sponsored by Gilan Medical Sciences University and Iran's Society for Studying Pain.
