TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iranian delegation at the third meeting of Preparatory Committee of 2010 Review Conference of Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) called Israel "the only obstacle to meeting a Middle East free of nuclear weapons."
Blasting the lack of commitment of nuclear countries to the 1995 review conference of NPT, the delegation said Israeli hostile invasion on Gaza Strip and the usage of banned weapons against civilians showed how much the possession of destructive nuclear arms by Tel Aviv would be dangerous for regional and international peace.
Iran then condemned the West double standards that condoned Israeli arm weapons and exerted force on regional countries to relinquish peaceful nuclear ambitions and urged 2010 Review Conference to pay heed to the threats raised by Israel's nuclear program.
Criticizing the US, France and Britain for nuclear cooperation with Tel Aviv that equipped the regime with banned weapons in spite of their NPT membership obligations, the delegation added their support has emboldened Israel in a way that it threatens nuclear programs of NPT members overtly.
Iranian delegation is lead by Legal and International Deputy of Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ali Hosseini, in the conference running from May 4 to 15 in New York.
