TEHRAN, May 22 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iran's football coach Afshin Ghotbi said on Friday that his team is full of energy and completely ready to play North Korea in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
Iran will face North Korea on June 6 in Pyongyang. The West Asian heavyweight is scheduled to play the United Arab Emirates, who has been disqualified for the next stage, four days later. Iran will travel to Seoul to hold its last match against South Korea on June 17.
"We are well-organized for this match. In my opinion, if our players progress with a daily growth rate of one percent we will be fully ready for the North Korea match," he said.
"I thank all of the players and Iran's Football Federation officials for taking part in the training sessions and helping the team get ready for this vital match," Ghotbi stated.
Iran is fourth in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers in Group Two with six points. South Korea tops the pool with 11 points from five games, followed by its northern neighbor with 10 points from six games, with Saudi Arabia in third, also with 10 points from six games.
