Tehran, May 24, IRNA – Iran ranks 32nd in the world in terms of the number websites, said the deputy head of Iran's Telecommunications Company for technological affairs.
Ali Reza Seidi added that more than 230 million sites have been registered so far in the world.
Stating that only 200,000 sites have been launched in Iran, he noted that 118,000 sites are using the domain .ir.
"Given Iran's population, we should have had 2,400,000 websites in the country at present," he said.
The 32nd place is not suitable for Iran and efforts should be made to improve the ranking, Seidi said.
