Press TV - Iran has restored access to social networking website
Facebook, about three days after it was
blocked, ILNA news agency has reported. "Facebook was unblocked a few minutes
ago," ILNA said.

As Iran gears up for the June 12 elections,
Facebook has become increasingly popular among Iranian voters who discuss their
views and engage in heated presidential debates on the social website.
Presidential hopeful Mehdi Karroubi criticized the government for the filtering
of the website. However, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad denied calling for a ban
on Facebook.
Internet providers also say the blocking of websites is decided by the judiciary
and a special committee there in charge of fighting moral abuse in internet.
