The funeral for the bombing victims in Zahedan was held on Saturday May 30. According to reports some 20 people were killed and as many as 120 injured in the massive May 28 blast during evening prayers at a Shi'ite mosque in Zahedan, the capital of Iran's Sistan-Baluchistan Province.
In a condolence message issued Friday on the occasion of the Thursday evening bombing of a mosque in the city of Zahedan in southeastern Iran, the Supreme Leader further urged all to safeguard national integrity and Islamic solidarity.
Referring to the old history of the involvement of certain expansionist superpowers and their spying organizations in the plots against Muslim nations, the Ayatollah said creating tension between different Islamic branches and causing bloodshed among Muslim brothers in regional countries was a constant target of the enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Supreme Leader also expressed deep sorrow over the terrorist act which claimed the lives of many worshipers gathered in the mosque and asked the Almighty to bestow patience to the bereaved families of the martyrs of the bombing.
