Payvand.com - Over 150 Sharif University of Technology alumni have written
a letter
protesting the arrest and detention of Hojat Sharifi, his wife Nafiseh Zare
Kohan and other student activists.

Nafiseh Zare Kohan |
Nafiseh Zare Kohan,
journalist, was arrested on Nov. 4th in Tehran. She called home some hours after
her arrest but she didn't know where she was being detained. Hojat Sharifi,
Nafiseh Zare's husband, is in the same predicament; he also called home and yet
is unaware of the whereabouts of the location he has been transferred to.
In their letter, Sharif
alumni have decried the current situation of the country and condemned the wave
of arrests that has followed Iran's June presidential elections. The letter
states that the ruling establishment, instead of responding to questions raised
by peaceful protesters, has used the security apparatus to silence the protests
using all available means: arrests of political activists, journalists, cultural
figures and many innocent people; violently attacking the protesters; holding
show trials, etc.
The alumni have demanded
that the government release their friends and all other student and political
activists unconditionally.
