In honor of International
Day of Older Persons:
The UN General Assembly designated 1
October the International Day of Older Persons by
resolution 45/106 of 14 December 1990, following up on initiatives such as
the
Vienna International Plan of Action on Ageing, adopted by the 1982 World
Assembly on Ageing and endorsed later that year by the General Assembly.
Razavi Khorasan is a province located in northeastern Iran. Mashhad
is the centre and capital of the province. Other cities and townships
are Ghouchan, Dargaz, Chenaran, Sarakhs, Fariman, Torbat-e Heydarieh,
Torbat-e Jam, Taybad, Khaf, Roshtkhar, Kashmar, Bardaskan, Neyshabour,
Sabzevar, Gonabad, Kalat, Khalil Abad and Mahvalat. Razavi Khorasan is
one of the three provinces that were created after the division of
Khorasan in 2004.
