Iran, France, China to discuss South Pars gas field cooperation soon

TEHRAN (ISNA)-National Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC) Managing Director Reza Kasaeizadeh said the Iranian company, France's Total and China's CNPC are to hold talks soon to decide over the way of development of upstream and midstream sectors of phase 11 in South Pars gas field.

The meeting will pave the way for Iran's National Oil Company to develop phases of South Pars gas field as soon as possible, he told Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA).

Kasaeizadeh then pointed out to Total's delay in implementing the plan of development of the phase 11 of the gas field and Iran's agreement with China's CNPC signed in June to expand the upstream sector and said "foreign partners on LNG plans wanted upstream and midstream sectors work simultaneously, in such a case we had to wait for a long time to finalize the agreements."

He also declared France's Total has said it is ready to join CNPC to develop Phase 11 of South Pars gas field.
