TEHRAN, Oct. 12 (Mehr News Agency) -- The Tehran Vocal Ensemble won a Golden Diploma in Italy's 8th International Choir Competition and Festival of Jazz, Gospel, Pop and Secular and Sacred Music. The festival ran from October 8 to 12, 2009 at Riva del Garda, Italy.

Conducted by Milad Omranlu, the ensemble received the highest score of 23 and was selected the category winner at the folklore section. The category winner is the choir with the highest score above 20.50 points, the Persian service of ISNA reported

The Ensemble also won a golden medal in the Mixed Choir Category of the 11th International Folksong Choir Festival last month.

In addition, the group was awarded two medals at the 2nd Asian Choir Games, which took place in South Korea earlier this year.
