Managing director of Tehran and Suburbs Operations Company noted
that since the beginning of October and the new academic year, the number of
subway passengers has increased to 1.6 million per day and is expected to hit
1.7 million per day in November.
Rabiei added that as the new academic year began, the number of
subway passengers has increased.
He said that when the cold season arrives and people have
difficulty using cars, the number of subway passengers increase and it is
expected that their number will reach 1.8 million in the coming winter.
He hoped that financial problems facing construction operations
would be solved soon and new cars and trains would be bought because addition of
new trains would solve such problems as long interval between trains arriving at
stations and overcrowding resulting from it.
