ENUGU, Nigeria, Oct. 31 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iran defeated The Netherlands in the Group C match of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup on Saturday. Iran beat the European team 1-0 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu. Milad Gharibi scored Iran's sole goal in the 25th minute.

Gambia defeated Colombia 2-1 in another qualifying match.

A total of 24 teams have been divided into six groups, each consisting of four teams.

The two top places in each group plus the four from the best third-placed teams will advance to the knockout phase.

The 13th edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup kicked off on October 24 and will be finished on November 15. Matches will be played in nine cities across Nigeria.
