TEHRAN, Sept. 1 (Mehr News Agency) -- Tehran Symphony Orchestra will be performing the Resistance Symphony by conductor Majid Entezami at Tehran's Vahdat Hall opening on September 22.
"The symphony is composed by Entezami and was commissioned by the Martyr's Foundation in collaboration with the Iranian Music Association and will be performed during the Sacred Defense Week in Iran" said director of the association Babak Rezaii.
In an interview with the Persian Service of Fars, Entezami had previously said that his symphony is an international composition.
I believe war and resistance are not just experienced in war-stricken regions, rather it impacts every part of our lives. Our people have been the symbol of resistance and sacrifice during the war and I took all these elements into consideration in my composition.
" have also tried to make a composition with an international theme so that every one in the world can enjoy the work" he added.
On the form of the performance, Entezami had remarked, "This symphony could also be performed like the Islamic Revolution Symphony in the hall, that is, the musicians can sit among the viewers and perform."
Singer Salar Aqili will be accompanying the orchestra, reciting excerpts of poetry by contemporary poet Saed Baqeri.
