Iran's Majlis gives votes of confidence to 18 proposed ministers including one woman

Tehran, Sept 3, IRNA - Majlis deputies on Thursday gave votes of confidence to 18 ministers proposed by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Nominees for the posts of ministers of education, welfare and social security and energy failed to receive votes of confidence from the legislative body.

The result of the polling was announced by Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani during the open session of Majlis this morning.

The Majlis gave its vote of confidence after several days of deliberation during which deputies spoke in favor or against the proposed ministers.
