HANOI, Vietnam, Sept. 11 (Mehr News Agency) -- Japan beat Iran in the 15th Asian Senior Women's Volleyball Championship on Friday.

Japan defeated Iran in three straight sets with scores of 25-11, 25-6 and 25-7 for the fifth to eighth places.

Iran finished 12th at the previous meet in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand two years ago.

The championship, from September 5 to 13, drew the participation of 16 countries and regions which were divided into four groups.
