Mirhosein Mousavi's senior aide, Alireza Beheshti
was released on bail today Sunday according to ILNA.
Mr. Beheshti was arrested in connection with his investigations into the recent
violations committed by the armed forces against the protesters of June
presidential elections. The office of their probe committee was sealed and all
their documents were confiscated last week.
Upon his release, Mr. Beheshti was visited by the grandson of Imam Khomeini,
Hassan Khomeini.
Two other members of this investigative committee, Ebrahim Amini and Shamseddin
Issai have also been arrested in the past two days.
The government is trying to suppress opposition demands for justice in the case
of the post-election violations committed by Iran's various armed forces, with a
new wave of arrests and attacks against the opposition.
Yesterday a judiciary panel also declared documents given to them by the
disputing candidate Mehdi Karoubi to be forgeries. They claim Mr. Karoubi was
unable to prove his allegations of detainee rape and torture in the recent
events.
