On the eve of the holy month of Ramadan a group of students and youth of Qom, Khorasan and Bakhtiyari provinces met with Mir Hossein Mousavi and Zahra Rahnavard. In this friendly meeting the representatives of the provinces each gave a brief report regarding the social and political situation in their provinces.

Among the most important issues that were raised by the representative of the provinces were the continuation of student activities despite the heavy police and security atmosphere in the universities, beating of the students in universities by so-called plain clothes militia and also putting heavy pressure and restricting activities of the political parties and organization.

Also in this friendly meeting, the youths stated that despite all of the government's measures and restrictions, the Green movement has gained more influence among various groups of the society. The present youth also expressed their concerns about the economic situation and living condition of the people, the growing unemployment and the increase in addiction to narcotics and social traumas in their provinces.

After the report by the representatives of the provinces Mir Hossein Mousavi and Zahra Rahnavard while welcoming this group shared their views with them.

Mir Hossein Mousavi at the beginning of this meeting while congratulation the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan pointed to the news of political prisoners ending their hunger strike and said: "The hunger strike by [political] prisoners, which was full of message and hope, will gradually reveal its effective outcomes and I congratulate these courageous prisoners who ended their hunger strike and as a result witnessed the results."

Mir Hossein Mousavi in another part of his remarks by referring to the spread of lies and wrong doings in the society said: "Today the Green Movement has this power and ability to relief all the ethical concerns that our friends raise every now and then, which of course are based on compassion and national commitment."

He added: "We should consider this fact that social deviations are the results of diversion and wrongful thinking and especially the spread of lies and lying that the autocrats have created for the nation; and therefore I believe that the long-term and honorable goals of the Green Movement can reduce the wrong doings in the society. Now we witness that those loyal to the long-term goals Green Movement are strongly committed to moral values."Referring to the remarks of one of the students about the relationship with the clergies and Marajeh (senior religious figures), the former Prime Minister, Mir Hossein Mousavi continued: "The relationship between the young generation and the clergies and Marajeh is very important and alongside of it, the description of the values, ideals and news of the Green Movement must reach the Grand Ayatollahs and clergies."

Mir Hossein Mousavi also by referring to the question of one of the audience, said: "As we are all aware of it and the constitution has also points it out in Article 27, announcing the demands and expectations as well as the right to have gatherings are of clear rights of the people and no one can deny people these rights. As a result, whenever people see the need for it, they will use this right and will not wait for the message of me or people like me."

Mousavi added: "The return to the constitution with no compromise means that it is not acceptable to pay attention to one part of the constitution and forget the other part of it. Ignoring parts of the constitution, especially the people's rights will also make the other principles [of the constitution] meaningless because the constitution is an integrated covenant." In continuation of his remarks, Mir Hossein Mousavi raised the question: "How can those, who are not willing to even for once bring up the civil rights or the right of people to rule their fate, have claims over the covenant that was made between the people and the government?"

He continued: "Breaking this covenant leads to the illegitimacy of the government and it is enough to look at the behaviour of the Guardian Council in dealing with the constitution to see how they (the authorities) have gone astray."

At the end, Mir Hossein Mousavi emphasized: "Today, we are in a state that not only the constitution is not honoured but rather even the simple and inadequate rules and regulations of the prisons are not followed by the prison guards."
