The last of the political prisoners who had started a hunger strike at Evin Prison have now been removed from solitary confinement.
Advar News, the website of Danesh Amoukhtegan student group reported that Abdollah Momeni, Bahman Ahmadi Amouyi and Keyvan Samimi were transferred to the general section of Evin Prison last night.
The three were part of the 16 political prisoners that started a hunger strike over three weeks ago to protest being mistreated by prison guards in section 350 of Evin Prison.
Yesterday, twelve of them were moved to the general section from solitary confinement.
While most of the prisoners had ended their hunger strike after 18 days, Keyvan Samimi was the last one who still refused food demanding the removal of all his peers from solitary confinement.
While the prisoners have returned to the general section of the prison, they have still not been allowed to contact their families, and their families have been unable to see or contact them all the while that they were on hunger strike.
Babak Bordbar, one of the prisoners on hunger strike, was released during this ordeal. The release of Bordbar was one of the top demands of the prisoners.
The prisoners ended their strike after 18 days after the bidding of opposition leaders and political figures who urged them to end their strike in concern for their health.
