Mohammad Reza Jalaipour, chairman and spokesman of the Third Wave Campaign which supported Mir Hossein Mousavi in last year's presidential elections, was released from Evin prison Thursday on a $300,000 bail. Jalaipour had been arrested three times in the past year. He was last arrested in June when he and his wife were about to leave the country. Jalaipour has not been charged with any crimes yet.
Jalaipour was warmly greeted by family and friends
Mohammad Reza Jalaipour was held in solitary confinement for 66 days during his last imprisonment. 66 days ago Jalaipour was told that his confiscated passport would be turned back to him and was called in to get his passport, but instead he was arrested at that time. Jalaipour is a graduate student at Oxford University. For more than a year now, he has not been able to return to his studies and his wife who resides in UK. Despite his release, Jalaipour's passport has not been returned to him yet.
