The late Grand Ayatollah Montazeri
Following the pressure by the security forces in preventing the family of late Grand Ayatollah Montazeri - spiritual leader of Green Movement - to hold a memorial service for the anniversary of Grand Ayatollah's passing, Ahmad Montazeri - eldest son of late Grand Ayatollah - in an interview said: "They (totalitarians) are even terrified of the dead Ayatollah Montazeri and his grave! "

Grand Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri died at the age of 87 on December 19, 2009. Montazeri, an architect of Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution, was considered the spiritual father of the present reform movement. He was buried on December 21 in the Shi'ite holy city of Qom. Hundreds of thousands of grieving people packed the streets of Qom chanting slogans praising the revered Ayatollah and the opposition movement; they also chanted against a government they see as illegitimate.

Ayatollah Sanei pays tribute to Ayatollah Montazeri
On the one year anniversary of passing of the late Grand Ayatollah Montazeri, spiritual leader of Green Movement, Grand Ayatollah Saanei - senior religious figure and critic of the government - visited the family of late Grand Ayatollah to pay respect and emphasized on keeping the teachings and writing of this noble man alive.
