Fatemeh Karoubi, wife of opposition leader, Mehdi Karoubi, wrote a letter to the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, to describe the arrest of his son, Ali Karoubi on February 11. She informs the Leader that the capturers which she refers to as "hooligans" threatened to "sexually assault" her son.
Ali Karoubi was arrested and tortured
The 37-year-old son of Mehdi Karoubi was briefly arrested in the course of
the attack on his father as the opposition leader was trying to join the
opposition rally on February 11.
In a report on Saham News website, Fatemeh Karoubi says his son was transferred to a mosque where he was beaten up and subjected to the "vilest" verbal abuse concerning his parents.

Fatemeh Karoubi informs the Supreme Leader that "these Godless people have
turned the place of divine security to a torture chamber for people's children."
She goes on to say that when his son protested against these treatments, "in the
house of God, he was threatened to -----, an act which in Islamic law is
punishable by death."
She urges the Supreme Leader to rescue the youth of the country from the hands of what she refers to as the "shameless crowd" before "other Kamrans and Mohsens die under their torture," alluding to two of the detainees who were tortured to death in the infamous detention centre, Kahrizak.
Several months earlier, Mehdi Karoubi made allegations that some of the Kahrizak detainees were sexually abused but a judiciary probe into the case hastily announced that Mr. Karoubi's allegations were fabricated and no sexual abuse had taken place in the prisons.
