When we go out of the house and brave the traffic on our Friday gallery hops, it is always good to find something out of the ordinary and unusual and I found this in the work of Shirin Malek Esmaili at the Mah gallery.
artist with her parents
She was born in 1981 in Berlin, trained at Tehran University and has been exhibiting for the last five years. Some of her work has an honest realism, although some is rather surreal, and there are some unusual and novel subjects, many familiar to Tehranis.
I found her sense of unpretentious realism very delightful; she seemed a down to
earth young lady who has enjoyed the love and support of her parents and we can
only hope that she continues to master her art and carry on with the insightful
visions of the inside of ordinary
life of people.
I have some examples of her work.
