Iranian opposition leaders, Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karoubi met last night to discuss future strategies in the face of growing security measures and violence against protesters. Saham News reports that the two disputing candidates encouraged their supporters to remain aware and present in the political arena in order to remedy the "deviation in the Revolution which has made the interests of the nation highly vulnerable."

These comments come right after the Supreme
Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei announced yesterday that February 11 demonstrations
have revealed that the Revolution is very much on track and that the people are
still "on the path of the Revolution and the Imam."
The opposition leaders also maintained that they will soon inform their supporters on how to "follow up on their peaceful demand for their rights in the future," and thanked them for their "peaceful participation" in the February 11 demonstrations.
The two disputing candidates of the election condemned the "extremist and violent movement" that has been impeding people from gathering and demonstrating in Tehran and other areas of the country.
They added that "this was the first time in the past thirty years that the commemoration of the Revolution's victory which should belong to all the people was conducted in an absolutely military atmosphere."
Election protesters had announced that they would stage their own demonstrations on February 11 to renew their demand for justice in the election system and the recognition of their citizen rights. However, harsh confrontation with anyone sporting any green symbols which has become the symbol of the opposition was immediately confronted with violent reaction of security and pro-government forces on this day.
Mehdi Karoubi had previously said that if the opposition is not given the right to peaceful gathering and participation, the Green Movement would have to choose "other methods" in order to pursue its demands.
On February 11 protesters were impeded from gathering while opposition leaders were also attacked and forced to leave the scene of the events.
