The Majlis Speaker, Ali Larijani, warned
President Barack Obama on Sunday about the repercussions of policies followed by
his Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The policies being followed by Clinton
has been simply undermining the U.S. national interests, Larijani noted.

The remarks by Larijani came as Clinton made
harsh remarks against Iran while she recently visited Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
Clinton aides revealed that she visited Arab Persian Gulf states to convince
them to put more pressure on Iran.
Addressing the parliament, Larijani said the massive participation of people in
the February 11 rallies in Iran thwarted the plot devised by the U.S. and other
Western countries.
Thus, U.S. officials could not tolerate such massive rallies and made decision
to travel to the region to show that they are important, he added.

MP Kazem Jalali said on Sunday that the U.S. is
seeking certain aims including promoting Iranophobia and provoking Arab
countries against Tehran.
Jalali, who is the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee
rapporteur, said Clinton was also trying to portray Iran as an enemy of Arabs.
He went on to say that Clinton traveled to the region ostensibly to attend
U.S.-Islamic World Forum, but she actually tried to create a negative image of
Iran among the Arab nations in order to isolate the Islamic republic.
However, Jalali, a professor of political science at Shahid Beheshti University,
said it is clear that no Arab countries believe that Iran is considering any
military action against them.
Arab countries are aware of the fact that the U.S is the major enemy of regional
countries, the lawmaker told the Mehr News Agency.
The senior lawmaker said the U.S. has other aims including diverting attention
from the Zionist regime's threat to the region and incite an arms race in the
region in order to sell more weapons.
Military adventures in the region have cost the U.S. hundreds of billions of
dollars over the years and it is seeking to sell arms to the rich Arab nations
to somewhat make up for the expenses, he added.
He also said four other U.S. officials, including Vice President Joe Biden, plan
to travel to the region.
