Leila Rajabi claims gold in Asian Indoor Athletics Championship

TEHRAN, Feb. 24 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iranian woman athlete Leila Rajabi won the gold medal in the shot put event of the fourth Asian Indoor Athletics Championships in Tehran on Wednesday.

Rajabi claimed the gold with a 17.32 meter throw. Athletes from China finished both second and third.
The competitions are currently underway in Tehran's Aftab-e Enqelab Gym. A total of 300 athletes from 27 countries including Iran (host), China, Japan, India, Kazakhstan, Taiwan, Lebanon and Malaysia are taking part in the three-day event.
