TEHRAN, Feb. 27 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iran finished first place in the 4th Asian Indoor Athletics Championships on Friday night. Iran won the championship with 21 medals overall.

The Iranian athletes earned five gold medals, five silvers and 11 bronzes in the three-day event and claimed the championship title.

China came second with four gold, four silver and two bronze medals, and Qatar finished in third place seizing four golds and three silvers.

The 4th Asian Indoor Athletics Championships took place in Tehran's Aftab-e Enqelab Gym. A total of 300 athletes from 27 countries including Iran (host), China, Japan, India, Kazakhstan, Taiwan, Lebanon and Malaysia participated in the event.
