Iran's football team finished in fourth place in the Doha International Friendship Football Tournament despite beating North Korea on Saturday. Iran defeated North Korea, which had already claimed the title, 1-0 at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium.

Mehrzad Madanchi opened the Koreans' goal with two minutes remaining to halftime.

Elsewhere, Qatar and Mali finished in a goalless draw. Both of these teams defeated Iran in the tournament.

North Korea gained first place with two victories and one loss. Qatar and Mali finished second and third respectively, and Iran was fourth.

Iran is preparing for the 2011 Asian Cup qualifiers. The Persians are scheduled to play Singapore on Wednesday January 6 at the Bishan Stadium.
