TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was welcomed by his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rakhmon Monday morning at Tajikistan's presidential office.

Ahmadinejad will also pay a visit to Turkmenistan on Tuesday to attend the inauguration of Iran-Turkmenistan second gas pipeline.

Before leaving Tehran for Dushanbe, he described Iran, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan's ties "friendly and mounting."

He also said implementation of Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan's railway, transportation and energy cooperation are the most important topics to be pursued in Ashgabat.
