Head of Iran's Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization, Hamid Baghaei announced that the return of Cyrus the Great Cylinder from British Museum to Iran for public display has been postponed.

According to the previous agreements, the Cyrus Cylinder was to arrive in Iran on January 16, but Iran's Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization has received a letter recently from British Museum that says some pieces of the Cylinder have been found that can lead researches to places of other cylinders of Cyrus the Great, he said Saturday.

The British Museum has invited Iran to take part in the researches on the pieces and Iran is to participate in the studies, he added.

He also said that a new date will be set soon in order to bring the Cylinder to Iran for a public display in its homeland.
