Back in Tehran, he visited fellow reformist, Emadeddin Baghi, making the trip without any security personnel. He maintained that the events have strengthened his determination to "struggle people's rights."

Mehdi Karroubi and Mir Hossein Mousavi are the two candidates of the June presidential elections who have challenged the victory of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with allegations of vote rigging.

Mehdi Karroubi has been attacked on several occasions by forces in plain clothes.

Today, International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran accused Revolutionary Guards and Basij militia of orchestrating the attacks by people in plain clothes and pretending that angry every day people are committing these crimes spontaneously. The Campaign called for legal action against Revolutionary Guard Commanders involved in these attacks.

Mehdi Karroubi has dismissed his security personnel claiming: "when they are not authorized to take the necessary actions during an attack, they cannot be effective."
