Iran's Minister of Education, Kamran Daneshjou in a meeting with university PR managers told reporters that he had no exact statistics regarding disciplinary sentences issued for students but maintained that five to ten percent of post-election detainees are university students.

He also dismissed comments regarding the students boycotting exams in some universities and told reporters to "visit campuses to relieve yourself from such rumours."

In the past weeks, university disciplinary committees have summoned tens of students in Iran and given them heavy sentences.

To stop student protests, even forces in plain clothes have attacked universities and beaten up students.

In protest to these harsh actions, student activists report that numerous students have refused to participate in end-of-term exams.

According to these sources, Amir Kabir University has given out 9,000 fail marks in students reports, however, university officials deny the veracity of these statistics.
