Iran is to transplant the world's first
artificial windpipe on human by early February, said the President of Beheshti
Medical Sciences University Mohammad Reza Razzaghi on Tuesday.

The artificial windpipe is the first to use stem
cells of the patient therefore it has no risk of rejection of the foreign
tissue, he said.
Windpipe transplantation has not been done in any other country by now, he said
and added, after Masih Daneshvari Hospital announced production of the windpipe,
Spain claimed that it has managed to develop artificial windpipe but it was
actually a bronchiole.
