of Quarter
Natural Ventilation: an Architectural tool for
sustainable design in the past and the present.

Principal Architect, New York City Transit
Mr. Mashiyat Ashraf
Mashiyat is a graduate of the Fine Art Faculty of
Teheran University. His work has taken him to England, India before relocating
to US.
At present he is the Principal Architect at the
Architectural Department of Capital Program Management (CPM) of MTA/NYCT. He is
in charge of in-house architectural staff working with various program areas. He
has been with MTA since spring of 2008.
Prior to MTA, for 7 years, he had been with
Parsons Brinckerhoff firm a world wide engineering and program management
company. As the design and quality control manager he has worked, on various
Program Management Contracts and the implementation of Green Design initiatives
for Schools in Newark NJ.
He has also been a design manager at the New York
City School Construction Authority for 10 years; working on various design and
delivery methods to provide new seats for the rapid expansion of New York City
Schools.
Prior to immigrating to US, for 7 years, he
collaborated with Fariburz Sahba on the design and construction of Baha'i Temple
(Lotus Temple) in England and India.
