Train derailment in northeastern Iran has left 7 dead and 12 injured so far. The
train was traveling from northeastern city of Mashhad to capital Tehran.

The General Director of unexpected events headquarters of northeastern province
of Khorasan Javad Erfanian said, the train derailed at 10:30 am local time.

The train was carrying 50 passengers, he told ISNA adding some of the injured
passengers are in critical condition and that the number of the wounded is
likely to rise.

An official of Iran's Ministry of Road and Transportation told ISNA that
preliminary examinations demonstrate that the train accident was due to
rail-related problems.
The official added the train involved 5 wagons that 4 of which derailed.
