The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution called on Muslim nations on Saturday to show more self-confidence and do not fear the arrogant global powers because these countries' power is "fake, unrealistic and waning."

"One of the reasons for the start of the fading of arrogant powers is the 'Islamic vigilance of Muslims' which have caused these powers lose their past clout, and the current condition of the U.S., in comparison to the past, is an evidence to this," Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei told a meeting of senior officials and some foreign diplomats based in Tehran to mark the auspicious birth anniversary of the Muslim Prophet.

The Leader also called the Islamic Republic the flag bearer of vigilance, unity and dignity among Muslim nations.

"It is 31 years that the arrogant powers are working against the Islamic system; and it is 31 years that despite all animosities the Islamic Republic of Iran, with a God's grace, has emerged stronger and more deep-rooted."

Elsewhere in his talks, Ayatollah Khamenei said today "a despotic and imprudent" system has dominated over the world and the people's lives but since such a system goes against the divine law it will vanish and now the "sings of its breakdown have become evident."

The Leader also said today the arrogant powers are pursuing the same old approach as the ignorant primitive people in old centuries with the only difference that today arrogant powers are armed with modern weaponry including atomic arms.

The Leader called huge military expenditures in the world "worrisome" and said as long as the arrogant powers hold the sway in the world "war, insecurity, and injustice" will continue in the world.

For example, he said during 45 year, which started from the end of the World War II until 1990, the world was without war only for three weeks.

He said wars are instigated by those countries which "rank first in producing arms" as they seek profit from selling armaments and "claims by the U.S. that war is intended to establish security and justice is a sheer lie."

Pointing to 600 billion dollar military expenditure by the U.S. in 2009, he said, "These weapons are used against the Muslim nation of Afghanistan, controlling the Iraqi nation, and also supporting the filthy regime of Israel in order to keep the Middle East in a volatile situation."
