Camp Ayandeh 2010 is in full swing as campers, counselors and staff close out the fourth day of IAAB's high school leadership camp on the serene campus of Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, California. In accordance with daily themes such as teambuilding, trust, and individual identity; collective identity and community; and diversity and collaboration, campers have spent the week participating in various team building activities and interactive workshops. Thursday marked the day of Camp Ayandeh's traditional Ta'arof Tournament in which campers compete to ta'arof better than one another. By visiting www.campayandeh.org you can see photos from and listen to a podcast of the tournament, which highlights 18 year-old ta'arof champ Daniel Duffin, a second-year camper.
As we move towards the second half of the week at Camp Ayandeh, the group anticipates Saturday night's performance by the Iranian rock indie group The Yellow Dogs, as well as the annual Talent Show organized by the campers. Be sure to stay tuned to the Camp Ayandeh blog for more photos, videos, podcasts and stories from the rest of the week.
