Iran claimed the title of the 2010 Sitting
Volleyball World Championships after defeating Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday.
21 teams participated in the competitions which was held in Edmond, Oklahoma,
US.
Iran seized a narrow 3-2 victory over Bosnia. The
Persians had already defeated Kazakhstan, Serbia, Ukraine, China and Egypt in
the event.
"It feels good to win after working so long for it," said Iran coach Hadi Rezaei.
Iran was up a set before Bosnia stormed back to win the fourth set and force the
decisive fifth frame.
"Our players thought it was over after two sets
and they let up," Razaei said.
"I told them it takes 25 points to win, not 24. That's the beauty of this
sport," he added.
Egypt beat Russia and came third. Iran, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Egypt secured
berths in the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.
In the women section, The U.S. finished in second place after being defeated by
China in straight sets.
