day after reporting US interest in holding talks with Iran, Alaeddin Boroujerdi
announced that Iran will not enter negotiations with the US.
The head of Iran's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission maintained that due to "the hostile policies of the US toward Iran" the Parliament will not consider this call for negotiations.
Boroujerdi added that the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament will not consider the call for talks because the US "acts against the interests of the Iranian nation."
Alaeddin Boroujerdi announced yesterday that he had been informed through the Swiss Ambassador to Tehran that the US Congress is interested in holding talks with Iran.
Fars news agency has also said that recently US Senator, John Kerry has proposed holding talks between Iranian Parliament and the US Congress.
Iran-US relations have been severed since 1979 when the US embassy in Tehran was overtaken by Iranian students who referred to the embassy as a "spying nest."
