
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, July 27 (Mehr News Agency)
-- Iran's Hamzeh Mohammadi and Ali Nejatkhah claimed gold medals in the
International Paralympic Council (IPC) World Powerlifting Championships on
Tuesday.
Mohammadi won the gold medal in the men's 60 kg
category by lifting 197.5kg.

Nejatkhah seized the gold in the junior 60 kg
category for lifting 155kg. He was followed by Saeid Nasiri, also from Iran, who
won the silver medal when he lifted 150 kg.

A total of 484 athletes from 50 countries are
taking part in the IPC Championships which is underway at the Kuala Lumpur
Stadium in Titiwangsa, Malaysia.
Athletes in the event are preparing themselves for the London 2012 Paralympic
Games where powerlifting is included as part of the Summer Games.
