Iran defeated by Australia in Stankovic Cup
Iran suffered its third successive defeat in basketball at the Stankovic Continental Cup 2010 in Liuzhou City on Friday.
Iran, which were already beaten by Slovenia and China in the tournament, was defeated by defending champion Australia 69-60.
Stankovic Cup is an inter-continental basketball tournament held annually in China since 2005.
Iran is preparing itself for the 2010 FIBA World Championship which will be hosted by Turkey from August 28 to September 12, 2010.
Aussies beat Persians in Water Polo World Cup
(Mehr News Agency), July 30 -- The Iranians lost to the Australians on the third day of the 14th FINA Water Polo World Cup on Thursday night.
Australia overpowered Iran 26-4 in Group A of the tournament. The minnow Iran had already lost to host Romania and Spain both 26-1.
Iran is in Group A along with Romania, Spain and Australia. Group B consists of Serbia, Croatia, the U.S. and China.
